Description: The second annual Rabbit River Folk Festival will be held Saturday August 4th in the beautiful City Park of Wayland. The purpose of the event is to bring people together for a day of folk music. So bring your instruments and/or lawn chairs out to the Wayland City Park and join in the fun.
The one day festival begins at 10 a.m. with the folk duo, Phil & JD. This will be followed by musical workshops open to all regardless of their musical level. Then on the main stage there will be an open mic session for anyone who wants to play a song on stage by signing up that day. After that our Main Stage Acts for this year’s festival begins.
Our main stage will feature wonderful folk music acts such as: Randy Stauffer, Pryer Times, Rick Tripplet, The Barnacles, Jeff & Lee, and our showcase act that will close the festival, Luke Lenhart Family & Friends Bluegrass Band.
Throughout the day there will be scheduled folk art demonstrations given by local artist Gail Hollinger as well as various on-going craft events that you can walk up to at anytime.
Admission to the folk festival is FREE thanks to the sponsorship of New Life Community Church who is helping to make this event available to all. So there is no fee for taking the workshops, participating in the folk art demonstrations or attending stage shows.
Food will be available for purchase. Famous Joe’s BBQ will be smoking up tasty sandwiches, Vibrant Grains Bakery will have their delicious pasties and bake goods, and the Meanie Weanie cart will be there to sell juicy brats and cheesesteaks.
